Do You Expect God To Move?

By Gordon Robertson

God has called us to all the world – to every nation, culture, and language. As His children, this is our inheritance.

The Lord shows us fruitful fields where He wants us to go, whether it is over the ocean or across the street. He also shows us the best ways to farm those fields. As we seek Him, God will provide the resources and techniques to impact a generation.

However, don’t let negative self-talk defeat you. When the Israelites were afraid to take the Promised Land, Joshua said: “Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread;…and the Lord is with us” (Numbers 14:9). Joshua was encouraging the people to act on the promises of God.

The Lord tells us, “I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass” (Ezekiel 12:25). All we have to do is agree with His word.

“GODʼS GOOD PLEASURE IS TO ACCOMPLISH HIS PLAN THROUGH US, AND HE EQUIPS US TO DO THE WORK OF FAITH WITH POWER.”

Paul writes in 2 Thessalonians 1:11, therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling. We are not worthy of God’s blessings, but He makes us worthy! That was decided on the cross. The verse continues, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power. God’s good pleasure is to accomplish His plan through us, and He equips us to do the work of faith with power.

As Ephesians 3:20 says, He … is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

We can achieve breakthroughs when we spend time in prayer, praise, and worship, focusing on His goodness. Jesus promises in John 7:37-38: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

So what is God telling you to do?

Pray in the Spirit to receive His word, then expect Him to act.

We want to be not only hearers but also doers of His word. So let’s go into all the fullness and goodness that He has for us – mighty works of faith and power – for He is the God of breakthroughs.

And Jesus assures us, “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).
