Interview with Courtney, Social Media Coordinator

By Fin Sheridan

Periodically, we do interviews with staff members, to help you get a behind the scenes look at what life is like here at CBN Europe! We recently hired a bunch of new staff so keep your eyes peeled for some fresh new faces coming soon on CBN READ!

We chatted to Courtney, our new Social Media Coordinator to find out about her role here at CBN!

Courtney, how are you? Having a good day?

Oh, I’m wonderful. Today we’ve had some really great responses on our Facebook pages around different aspects of God’s character and basic truths which have been bringing hope to people. There’s been great feedback and people messaging in prayer requests.

You’re a fews weeks into this job, what’s your impression of life at CBN Europe?

It is crazy and fast-paced, but the heart that everyone shares is so incredible: everyone really wants to glorify Jesus in everything they do. It is a great place to work because every single staff member wants to be an encouragement to those around them.

What made you want to work here?

I love the vision of CBN and wanted to find a way to glorify God with the practical skills that I feel like He gave me. When I saw the role, I really felt it combined my skills and my passions.

“The development of less selfies and more important information is an exciting trend!”

Now, tell us about ONE thing you’re excited about, in the world of social media?

I am really excited to see how Insta Stories and instant updates become better; less filtered and more real life. There’s an opportunity for growth on these platforms around real-time news and interaction because anyone can report events from where they are there.

The location tagging for cities is a great way to see what’s happening in the city you’re in. And, for me, the development of less selfies and more important information is an exciting trend. Social media is both a blessing and a curse, so the way that we utilise it matters.

What’s the best way for people to connect with what CBN is doing, online?

They should like and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and on Instagram. If they really want to key into our newest content then, Twitter is the place. If you’re looking for a community where people are praying and encouraging each other, then get to Facebook!

What’s your favourite social media platform personally?

Instagram, because I really like the Insta Story functionality. I’m so excited for what the possibilities are!
