Interview with Tim, Marketing Manager

By Fin Sheridan

Periodically, we do interviews with staff members, to help you get a behind the scenes look at what life is like here at CBN Europe! We recently hired a bunch of new staff so keep your eyes peeled for some fresh new faces coming soon on CBN READ!

First up, we sat down to chat with Tim, our new Marketing and Fundraising Manager.

Tim, how are you? How’s your day going so far?

I’m well but quite busy! Lots of things to do, but it’s all very exciting!

You’re a couple of weeks into the job, what’s your impression of life at CBN Europe?

It’s so interesting! In the UK, we are a small office of about 30 people but we are a part of a massive, global ministry. What we actually achieve here is quite amazing. I was particularly impacted as we’ve gone through our ‘7 Days Ablaze’ prayer focus and it’s been so powerful to see the prayers that people have sent in to us. It’s been a real privilege to pray for others. At the same time, we are also supporting a huge disaster relief effort across the USA and Mexico, following all the natural disasters. It’s such an honour to be part of an organisation that helps people all over the world.

What made you want to work here?

The opportunity to use my skills for God, not just myself. My Monday to Friday gets to be directly building the kingdom and spreading the gospel worldwide. I get to play a part and contribute as part of my 9-5 job which is just awesome.

“My role is to help as many people as possible engage with our activities.”

What does your role involve?

CBN Europe does a huge amount of things: we broadcast on national television, we have a prayer centre, we do all this great work but ultimately, if people don’t connect to it then there’s not much point doing them! My role is to help as many people as possible engage with our activities. On the other hand, all of the work we do, including the vital humanitarian projects, wouldn’t be possible without the financial help of our partners so my role is also to encourage giving.

Have you always worked in marketing?

No! I actually trained in contemporary classical music and worked as a composer for a number of years. I had pieces performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, as well as doing scores for some BBC 2 dramas.

Wow! So can we expect musical marketing from CBN Europe anytime soon? Perhaps jingles with 700 Club soundbites?

Watch this space….

What should people be looking forward to, coming soon from CBN?

Well there’s some big upcoming announcements from Superbook, with some exciting changes that will help children and parents connect with this amazing resource. I can’t give too much away just yet!

Prince of Peace

Everlasting Father
