The Power of Partnership

There’s an African proverb that says “If you want to go fast, travel alone. If you want to go far, travel together.” The sentiment is that, whilst it might be quicker to just travel alone – and anyone who has tried navigating an airport with children will agree – a journey of any substance is always done better when we are with someone. It’s harder to quit. We can encourage one another. In the words of Solomon, if “one falls down, the other can be relied upon”.
That’s why we’re so passionate about partnership, here at CBN Europe. Life is a journey and we want to share that with you, wherever you are in the world and in whatever ways we can. We want to encourage you in your faith, through Christian programming. We want to help your children learn about God, through Superbook. “Through your partnership, lives are being changed every single day!”
There’s a profound picture of partnership in the story of Ruth. Due to famine, a woman called Naomi has lost her husband and 2 sons. Filled with grief, she turns to her daughters in law and frees them of their obligation to stay with her. They can go and find new lives.
One daughter in law leaves but the other, Ruth, clings to Naomi. She declares, in Ruth 1:16 “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.”
Ruth’s promise covers all the bases. Wherever Naomi is, Ruth has promised to be there. They are committed to one another, and committed to the Lord’s purposes together. As CBN, we want to commit in this same way. We believe that God has called us to certain things and we would love you to join us on that journey.
