4 Books For a Fresh Perspective About Work
By Fin Sheridan
It’s estimated that we spend an average of 47 hours per week working. If an employee works 47 hours per week from the age of 18 to 62 without missing any scheduled shifts or requesting vacation time, that person spends approximately 109,980 hours at work. That’s quite a lot of time!
Compare that to the amount of time we spend at church, small group or in other Christian environments and our work life comes out on top. However, as Christians, work can be a tough environment to be in. We can often separate our Sunday life from our Monday life – a distinction that is easy to do but totally opposed to how God wants us to live!
“Our whole lives are meant to be a spiritual act of worship, Romans 12 tells us.”
It is so easy to forget that includes our careers and work life too so here’s some book recommendations for you, to help you get a fresh perspective on your work life this year!
Tim Keller: Every Good Endeavor
Ken Costa: God At Work
John Ortberg: The Life You’ve always Wanted
Bill Hybels: Simplify
