Superbook Helped Change Shine’s Angry Heart
Superbook
What’s a mother to do when her 8-year-old boy refuses to do simple chores, talks back and is often rude? After young Shine acted up once too often, his mum had a brilliant idea, let Superbook speak to him! Read on to discover how Superbook helped change Shine’s angry heart.

In his 8-year-old mind, a boy named Shine decided if he didn’t like doing chores, he shouldn’t have to do them.
“I got angry at my mom when she called me in,” said the spirited boy. “I’d rather play with my friends than work!”
“He always argued with me and then he wouldn’t obey me,” added his frustrated mother, Daw. “Whether I spoke gently or gave him a punishment, he didn’t listen.”
Then someone told Shine about a Sunday school class that was showing cartoons near his home in Myanmar. That’s where he watched CBN’s Superbook for the first time.
“I decided to follow Jesus. When I prayed to him, I felt calm in my chest.” – Shine
“I learned that arguing and disobeying is a sin,” said Shine. “But I learned that Jesus died for my sins.”
At the end of one Superbook episode, the teacher asked the children if they wanted to pray to become Christians. Shine prayed along.
“I decided to follow Jesus. When I prayed to him, I felt calm in my chest.”
Back home, Shine’s mom noticed a change in her son too.
“His behaviour changed after he watched Superbook. He doesn’t get angry as much and he obeys me,” said Daw.
Meanwhile, Shine has been praying for his mom and for his friends who he invites to watch Superbook with him.
“I like when my friends come to watch. Thanks to Superbook I know that God is always with me!”
