STORY OF HOPE

As we approach Christmas, it’s so easy to become trapped in the busyness of the season that we fail to stop and remind ourselves of the true meaning of Christmas.

For the shepherds who were on the hills looking after their sheep, their night began, as they were accustomed to. The same procedures and routines, the same surroundings. However there was something that was about to radically change their mundane lives forever.

An angel appeared to them, and they were gripped with fear, but the message that was given to them not only applied to the shepherds but also to each of us today.

“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11

Firstly, the angel helped disperse and dispel their fears. Secondly the angel brought good news of great joy. Thirdly the angel made an announcement; today, a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

The Christmas story is one of hope. Only Jesus can take away our fears. Only Jesus can be the one who can bring true joy and happiness, His birth is signifi cant and personal for you.

Today a Saviour has been born to you. It’s a personal invitation, an opportunity, to respond to the message of salvation. If you would like to know Jesus, please call our prayer line at 0300 561 0700 and we would love to pray with you.

Happy Christmas.
