He has the perfect place for you, and remember, god loves to answer prayer.
SOME THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN A CHURCH
1. BIBLE TEACHING:
“Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.” Psalm 119:2 The Bible must be the guideline used and taught.
2. CHRIST CENTERED:
“But we preach Christ crucified.” 1 Cor. 1:23. Jesus Christ is to become the centre of our worship and our salvation.
3. HOLINESS:
“Be holy because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:16. Christians are called away (by the Spirit of God) from doing certain worldly things and they are called unto God to live a purified and holy life. This needs to be taught and displayed by the leadership of every church.
4. LOVE:
“The ultimate aim of the Christian ministry is love”
1 Timothy 1:5. True, Christ-like love reveals a pure heart and clean spirit.
BEWARE OF CHURCHES THAT:
- Place Jesus Christ as less than or not equal to God the Father
- Revere a book other than or in addition to the Bible.
- Place undue emphasis on one person, leader or founder
- Emphasise salvation by “works” rather than as a free gift through faith
- Control members and require service to an organisation or leader rather than voluntary service to the Lord Jesus Christ.
