Superbook in the Balkans
Recently, Gizmo and Superbook in the Balkans visited two very significant cities for the very first time. One is Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. And the second one is Dubrovnik, a Croatian medieval fortified city. These are two very different cities but God did amazing things in each one!
In Sarajevo we visited a Catholic School, which is one of the best elementary schools in the city and where only half of the students are Catholics, while the other half are Muslim or other. We prepared the ‘He is Risen’ episode and programme for 330 children and teachers. One of the highlights was all of us singing and dancing to the salvation poem together with Gizmo. Another highlight was when the principle of the school who could not attend the event asked one of the teachers to give feedback on the event, she said: “I think this is the first time our children really understood the real meaning of Easter.” And that is why we do what we do, bringing the message and meaning of Jesus’ Resurrection closer to the next generation, just close enough that it can reach and impact them.
“I think this is the first time our children really understood the real meaning of Easter.”
In Dubrovnik we were invited to take part in a Christian festival. We prepared the children’s programme and the episode we chose to show was ‘The Prodigal Son’. There were about 50 children present, including a few kindergarten groups. The teachers even asked us if we can come back and do something bigger where more children can be present.
It was amazing to see how much everyone loved watching ‘The Prodigal Son’ and enjoyed meeting Gizmo. We understand that the Lord is giving us an incredible platform to share Jesus on and we pray for wisdom in how to be faithful and see the harvest from it.
Without your prayers and support this event would not have been possible. We are so thankful for your support and ask that you continue standing in prayer with us for the Balkans. We are so excited for all that God is doing there.
