Aisha’s story

Gloria and Sola have a huge heart to care for vulnerable children, but they were running out of space. Read on to find out what happened when CBN’s Orphan’s Promise discovered Gloria and Sola’s situation.

Aisha is like a big sister in this children’s home. She takes care of the little ones and helps prepare meals.

Every day she’s happy to be alive because she knows that as a baby, she was marked for human sacrifice.

Gloria, who runs the children’s home, says tribal superstitions here call for brutal rituals. Instead of dying at the hands of a witchdoctor, Aisha was taken by Christians in the village and given to Gloria and her husband, Sola.

Aisha was the first baby they took in. Over the years, Gloria and Sola rescued more than 40 children. They lived in a three-room house that they rented.

When we heard about the wonderful work Gloria and Sola were doing to save children’s lives, we built them a new home.  Now, every child has his or her own bed, and plenty of room to thrive.

Here at the new house, Gloria and Sola have more space than they ever have before and because of that, they’ve been able to adopt more than a dozen babies that wouldn’t be alive without them.  All the babies have come here sick and malnourished, but here, they have a chance to grow up healthy and strong.

The kids love to play ball outside, or just hang out with each other singing and dancing.
